The series revolves around Salman the Persian, the Iranian companion of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). It is composed of three chapters, namely Byzantium, Iran and Hijaz.
On Monday, Fars News Agency quoted Hossein Taheri, the producer of ‘Salman the Persian’, as saying that “more than 40 foreign actors from Tunisia, Greece, and Armenia performed in the first chapter” of the series which is named Byzantium.
He added that a smaller number of foreign actors are participating in the 'Iran' chapter, which has been in production since August 10. This chapter focuses on Salman's birthplace in ancient Iran and his family.
Taheri noted that many Arab, Asian and European actors are expected to take part in the “Hijaz” chapter, which is currently undergoing the pre-production stage.
He further said initial negotiations have taken place with more prominent Iranian stars, expressing hope that they will join the series in the next two months.
Iranian actors Alireza Shoja-Nouri, Mohammad-Reza Hedayati, and Farhad Aslani are among the cast members of the series.
The filming of ‘Salman the Persian’, which is being directed by Davoud Mir-Baqeri, began nearly four years ago.
Davoud Mir-Baqeri estimates that the premiere date of the 60-episode series will be in 2026.
Last October, Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Peyman Jebelli hailed the TV series during his visit to a filming location of ‘Salman the Persian’ in Shahrud City.
Jebelli stressed the importance of the TV series, noting that it is of global value and reach.
